Valiant Sells Anchor Drive Facility to CS Wind Canada Inc.

January 11, 2011
The Valiant Group announced today that they are entering into a definitive agreement to sell their Twin Oaks Facility located at 9355 Anchor Drive to CS Wind Canada Inc. The Valiant location housed the automated production systems assembly operations, mainly for joining technologies. The sale is an extremely unique and beneficial situation for both Valiant and the City of Windsor.

Len Solcz, President of Valiant stated, “The automotive industry has gone through a dramatic change over the last few years and has left many companies such as ours with under utilized capacity. Additionally, some of our Customers are redefining their requirements and expectations and are requesting us to complete a majority of the production line assembly, directly on their floor instead of installing and integrating equipment on the Valiant floor prior to shipping. Although we are experiencing significant increases in sales and employment, this is an opportune time to right size our footprint and to align our building capacity to our customers’ needs.”

With some expansion and modernization of the two remaining mainstream assembly facilities the Company will be ideally positioned to handle current and future projects for its global customer base. Valiant sees a bright future for its suppliers, customers and employees as there will be no reduction in employment levels as a result of the sale.

This makes way for CS Wind to enter the City of Windsor and the Province of Ontario with plans to employ 300 people to manufacture windmill towers. Valiant is planning to add CS Wind Canada to their growing list of diversified customers. This new deal will provide a unique opportunity for Windsor to build long-term sustainable jobs.

When asked about the deal, Marty Solcz, COO stated, “We as a Company and as a family are extremely proud to have played an important role in the diversification of the manufacturing industry in Windsor and applaud the efforts of the Mayor of Windsor, Eddie Francis and the Windsor Essex Development Commission who

In addition, our local Provincial Members of Parliament, Hon. Sandra Pupatello, Minister of Economic Development and Trade and the Hon. Dwight Duncan, Minister of Finance are to be commended for their efforts to ensure that jobs are created right here in the City of Windsor and the Province of Ontario, as part of the Province’s commitment to spend up to $7.0 Billion on alternative energy.”
